Introduction
Sisters of the Good Shepherd arrived in Sandanapalaya in the year 2002 in response to the felt need expressed by the Late Bishop Dr. Roy. During our stay and in our apostolic involvement, in Sandanapalaya and in the neighborhood for the past 16 years, we the sisters of the Good Shepherd had the opportunity to interact with the local community at Sandanapalaya and the Tribes of Soliga, Lambani and other Scheduled castes apart from our Socio-Pastoral focus to the Local Christian Community.
Location of the Area
Sandanapalaya Village is situated at the border area of the States of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, at the foothills of the Eastern Ghats. This village comes under Martalli Panchayat, in Kollegal Taluk, Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka State. It is located 240 kms from Bangalore, 120 kms from Mysore, 60 kms from Kollegal and 90 kms from Chamarajanagar.
